The story of Oliver Beake and the hyperreal corporate world he built — and which then consumed him.
Oliver Beake developed something of an online following making so-called "day in the life" videos about his featureless corporate job. After being laid off, Oliver struggles to find new employment — and so he resorts to making his videos once again, only this time, and unbeknownst to his viewers, he is working a fake job at a fictional multinational conglomerate he has "created" for this purpose: IBR Glennfield BrilCo.
Oliver's success eventually attracts both a Hollywood producer and investment from a private equity firm. As Oliver loses control of the project, it becomes increasingly difficult to distinguish between his simulated life and his former, "real" one. He soon finds himself in a hyperreality that would make a French postmodernist blush — and it's all of his own making.
